Registered Nurses, Customer Service Representatives and Retail Salespersons are the Top Jobs in December

MONTGOMERY - Data collected and analyzed by the Alabama Department of Workforce’s Labor Market Information (LMI) Division shows that in December 2025, there were 86,959 job ads posted in Alabama, representing a monthly decrease of 3,272 ads or 3.6%.

The five occupations with the most online job ads are for Registered Nurses, Customer Service Representatives, Retail Salespersons, General and Operations Managers and Fast Food and Counter Workers with 8,112 ads placed for those occupations in December.

In December 2025, the median advertised wage was $50,000 per year.  There were 0.62 candidates for every one job opening in December 2025.

The top two employers posting the most online ads in December 2025 were Huntsville Hospital with 1,232 ads and McDonald’s with 711 ads. The rest of the top 10 were: The University of Alabama At Birmingham (617), Tacala, LLC (579), Auburn University (562), UAB Health (451), Baptist Health (354), H&R Block (353), O’Reilly Auto Parts (310) and Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center (308).
