Promoting STEM in Alabama

Through the Alabama STEM Council, we equip parents, educators, businesses and industry partners with the tools and connections needed to inspire young minds to explore future opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), strengthening statewide impact.

Initiatives

UTeach Alabama

UTeach is a university-based STEM teacher preparation program, offering math and science undergraduates research-based, clinically intensive preparation and continued early-career support.

Alabama STEM Officers (ASO)

The ASO program places students at the forefront of STEM, allowing them to serve as leaders at their schools and in their local communities, promoting ideas and the pursuit of STEM education.

STEM Hubs

The Alabama STEM Council provides support to STEM Hubs. They promote STEM careers, facilitate connections for industry, education and workforce partners and help form pathways to opportunity for students and educators.

STEM Teacher Externship

The STEM Council’s Teacher Externship program equips educators with firsthand industry experience so they can bring answers and excitement straight to the classroom.
