Lead the next generation of workers
Training programs through Workforce Alabama turn opportunity to action, helping employers develop skilled, job-ready talent while giving future workers meaningful, hands-on experience that leads to long-term success.
Training Plan
A Workforce Alabama representative will work with the employer to create a training plan that defines trainee objectives and goals. Based on employee count, employers may receive up to a 75% reimbursement of hourly wages paid to a trainee, encouraging employers to hire those seeking to learn the necessary skills to perform a new job. This program is designed to fulfill local employers’ needs by providing a trained workforce and increasing productivity and profits.
The ultimate goals of the program are permanent employment upon successful completion of training, long-term placement into occupations and a skilled workforce. Find more information about the program in the brochure.
Work-based Learning
Work-based learning provides a way for employers to train students with educational opportunities that typically cannot be replicated in the classroom. This experiential learning promotes improved skills, higher workforce efficiency and the availability of a better-trained labor pool, encouraging business growth and productivity.
Training Reimbursement
Workforce Alabama recognizes the costs, time and attention that comes with training. The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act allows the employers of on-the-job training (OJT) participants to be reimbursed for a portion of the participants’ wages. While employers negotiate the maximum length of the training period, it should not exceed six months.
