Inspections / Elevators

Elevators

To ensure safety for workers and the public, Alabama is among many states that require an elevator safety inspection program.

Performing Annual Inspections

Alabama law mandates that all elevators be inspected annually, except for those located in industrial facilities not accessed by the public. It also mandates inspections for elevators under construction to ensure proper installation and maintenance.

In addition to overseeing safety inspections, the division must keep accident reports as well as license persons who are engaged in the construction, repair and dismantling of elevators.
